January kicks off the bridal show season. Usually, I am pretty immune to the craziness. I’d like to think that when my time comes, I’d opt for something low-key rather than over-the-top, but after getting a glimpse of the BHLDN SPRING 2015 BRIDAL COLLECTION, I might have to reconsider my position on the whole Cinderella ball gown, tiara, glass slipper fairytale wedding thing.
My favorite wedding dress from the collection, is the Wisteria Dress – a BHLDN exclusive. Designer Vatana Watters, inspired by designer masters Balenciaga and Lanvin, creates a dress that is fresh, surprising, and beautiful. The illusion sweetheart neckline gives you the lightness of a strapless but the peace of mind there will be no strap slips and wardrobe malfunctions on your special day. The delicate strips of metallic lace twine down a full, layered skirt of frothy tulle. This gown is worthy of any modern day princess, but like Cinderella, is still remains modest and pure. A blush color, the gown pairs best with ivory or blush veil and blends beautifully into any natural setting.
For those on a budget, I love the London Wrap by Jenny Yoo. This sheer, delicate tulle topper, accented by tiny white appliqué blooms in front and back, wraps around your shoulders, then fastens with dainty buttons. It is feminine and romantic and sure to elevate any plain white wedding dress, particularly strapless styles.
